Psalm 58 is a segula for protection against vicious dogs and a warning against lashon hara.
David wrote this Psalm about King Saul’s pursuit of him into the wilderness of Ziph, when his general Avner, convinced the King that David wanted to kill him. David has sharp words for Avner and all the men who spoke untruthfully about him. In the end, the righteous will prevail.
With insights from the Midrash, Rashi, Rebbe Nachman, Reb Noson, Rav Hirsch and more.
