Rebbe Nachman tells us that a person should never grow old, and the way to avoid growing old is to renew our purpose each day. Spiritual growth is bound up in our purpose and and key is growth in emunah.. Emunah encompasses more than a feeling or belief–and Breslov wisdom shows us some surprising and important ways we can apply it in every-day situations. Learn emunah for your real life.

Time: Mondays, 8:30 PM EST, 5:30 PM PT

Dates: Monday, October 15 through December 10 (No class December 3)

Level: Women Only, Beginners Welcome

We all want it—but do we really have it? Emunah (faith) is a word we hear a lot but are we really sure know what true emunah looks like? And how can we get more of it for our self?

Throughout his teachings Rebbe Nachman gives us various insights into what living with genuine emunah looks like and how we can develop our emunah throughout our lives. Using various Breslov texts and stories, Chaya Rivka Zwolinski will discuss many aspects of this essential concept, central to living a life of spiritual connection.

What does emunah look like?

The 4 Aspects of emunah (don’t miss any of these!)

Truth and faith

Applied emunah

See what you believe (chicken and egg)

The Way To Win (For Real)

victory-1349384 (1)

Winning isn’t everything. It’s the only thing. —Vince Lombardi

If you want to find Truth you must rid yourself of the desire for victory. —Rebbe Nachman of Breslov

Rebbe Nachman teaches that the urge to be victorious is a trait that cannot co-exist with truth. He says that a person who yearns to understand and experience truth, must discard her desire for winning.

But competition is what drives this world (and the economy, nations, and many individuals.) Besting others, at sport, politics or war, seems to be what this grand race called life is all about. Isn’t it? Continue reading The Way To Win (For Real)

Rebbe Nachman Shows Us How To Get Close To God

free_israel_photos_places_nekarot_stars_640…You must strive for awareness of the Creator so much so that your heart is filled with incredible awe-fear of the Greatness of God and that you are aroused to serve Him with true devotion because you have some knowledge and appreciation of how Exalted He is.

The way to achieve this true devotion and appreciation is through prayerful meditation and reflection: taking stock of yourself, evaluating yourself, and weighing each of your actions. This is the path to reach the “light that is a treasure for the righteous.”  — Likutey Eitzos (Advice); (free translation)

Why does Rebbe Nachman of Breslov teach us that we need to evaluate ourselves in order to appreciate Hashem’s (God’s) greatness and come closer to His Treasury of Light for the Righteous?  Continue reading Rebbe Nachman Shows Us How To Get Close To God

Truth And Joy Vs. Esau’s Yes-Man

Adar I by CRZ

Faith and truth are a shining face. They are joy and life. They are the gateway to length of days.

But, falsehood shortens the days of a person’s life. Falsehood is death and idolatry, a dark face.

—Likutey Eitzos, Collection of Rebbe Nachman’s Advice Compiled by Reb Nosson

Immersing yourself in the deeply-true teachings of Breslov Chassidus is life-changing. Want more? Have a conversation* with Hashem about the particular lesson you’re learning—it can bring you to a higher level of awareness and joy.

But, in order to really apply what you are learning to your life, you must be honest about the truths you are learning. It also helps to be honest about yourself.

Is it worth it?  Continue reading Truth And Joy Vs. Esau’s Yes-Man
